Govt. T.Romana College will be hosting the North East Natya Sangam - A festival of contemporary theatre practices, traditions and diverse cultural expressions of India between 25th - 28th February, 2019. A two-day National Seminar on the theme 'Perspectives: Theatre in North East India' will also be held during the occasion.
THEME: RELATIONSHIPS, SEX AND SEXUALITY
As was done in previous years, Govt T. Romana College observed a special programme on Valentine’s Day, taking the opportunity to educate students and create awareness on themes related to the general observation of the Day. This year, the theme ‘Relationships, Sex and Sexuality’ was underlined through a Classroom Campaign where guidelines created on the said theme were elaborated upon by teachers in their respective classes. A Special One-hour programme was also conducted for the students with a Keynote Address delivered by Dr. Lalrinmawii Tochhawng , and solo performances by students. At the end of the programme, students, staff and faculty took a Valentine’s Day signature pledge and were each given a ‘Red Ribbon Reminder’ to mark the event.

On the occasion of the College observing Valentine’s Day 2019, I _____ of ____ Semester hereby solemnly pledge that
1. I shall abstain from sexual promiscuity and promote a healthy lifestyle.
2. I will personally abstain from all activities that promote the spread of the HIV/AIDS virus and passionately support the fight to contain it.
3. I will take full responsibility of my role as a student of Govt. T. Romana College and as such strive to improve on my academic and co-curricular performances in the College.
Govt. T.Romana College observed a 2-day event as Cultural Day on October 17 & 18, 2018. The theme chosen for the event was ‘Aia upa zah’ (Respect for Elders). Students and members of the staff attended both days of the event in traditional and ethnic attires. The theme of the event was elaborated upon by teachers on the first day.
The main event held on October 18, 2018 at the College Campus consisted of a function, exhibition, outdoor and entertainment programmes. The Chief Guest at the function, Pu Zonunsanga Khiangte, MJA president congratulated the College on the organization of the event and commented on the College being a cultural hub with representation of different ethnic groups from both in and outside the State. The function also saw an address on the theme by the Keynote Speaker Pu L.Biakthianghlima, senior most faculty and special performances by student groups representing the Mara, Chakma and Assamese groups.
The second day also showcased an exhibition by the State Museum, Department of Art & Culture and by the College.
In addition to this, there were outdoor exhibits showcasing traditional games and dances. In the afternoon, an entertainment programme was conducted by students under the aegis of the Music Club which was followed by a feast in the College Campus.
The first-ever Cultural Day conducted by the College was a grand success with the celebration of traditions and inculcation of values.
On August 31, 2018 the Hon'ble Minister of Finance, etc., Pu Lalzawta laid the foundation stone for the new Library Building of Govt. T.Romana College. The new building is to be constructed with Rs 3.20 Crores sanctioned from the New Economic Development Policy (NEDP).
The function to commemorate the event was chaired by Pu C.Laldinsanga, Associate Professor, with the Principal, Dr. Lalrintluanga welcoming guests and expressing the College's gratitude to the Government for their support to the College.
Speaking on the occasion, the Hon'ble Minister encouraged students to the full advantage of the facilities and opportunities to them. He also reminded them that their biggest priority at the moment is education. The Minister congratulated the College on the progress and wished them well.
Dr. C.Lalramsanga, Secretary, Planning Department also pressed upon the students the need to be able to specialised and gain expertise in their respective fields in order to succeed.
The function closed with a proposal of Vote of Thanks by Dr. Lalchhuanmawia, Associate Professor. The happy event culminated in dinner for the special guests and staff members.
Following a beneficial and successful awareness programme with the UD&PA department, the Sociology department, Govt. T. Romana College took the initiative to hold another awareness programme with the Rural Development Department, with the goal of educating students about the various Rural Development Schemes that are part of their syllabus.
On the initiative taken by the Department of Sociology, Govt. T.Romana College, an awareness programme on selected schemes under the department was organised on February 15, 2024 by the Director, Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation (UD&PA) at the Directorate's Conference Room.
On 18th May, 2024, Graduation Dinner for outgoing students (2021-2024 batch)was held at KV Paradise, Durtlang. Formal session started at 1:00pm hosted by Mr. RD Lalsanglura and Ms Lalmawizuali Khiangte. The programme started with Bible reading and prayer offered by Mrs. Baby Lalramsiami, Head, Department of Education.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Zoramthanga inaugurated the newly constructed approach road to Govt. T.Romana College via ITI locality on the 10th February 2023. The road is 485 metres long and financed through the SEDP amounting to Rs. 464.9 lakhs. The construction of the road commenced on 16th January 2021.
Govt. T. Romana College salutes the heroes of Kargil War by celebrating the Silver Jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July, 2024. The programme was organised by IQAC and National Cadet Corps, GTRC. It was chaired by Mr. Lalsangzela Pachuau, CTO NCC and Wing Commander HL Risanga (Retd.) was invited as a Resource Person. On this occasion, the Resource Person delivered a speech on the history of 'Kargil War' and how the Indian armed forces had corageously fought back against the Pakistani forces who had illegally occupied Kargil.
Govt. T. Romana College Observed World Environment Day 2023 by watering the trees and plants in the campus and adding manure whereever required.
