The NSS Unit of Govt. T. Romana College organised an awareness programme on The Role of Youth in Preventing Drug Abuse on 1st May, 2023. 30 female and 30 male students participated in the Programme which was held in the College campus. Two NSS P.O. Pu Lalthansang and Pu Lalnunzira delivered lectures in the Programme.
Mass cleanliness was conducted on 30th September, 2022 by Nss unit Govt.T. Romana College. 50 student volunteers & 3 PO's participated in this event.
The NSS Unit of Govt. T. Romana College organised blood donation in the College on 20th October, 2022. 61 male and 9 female students donated their blood for use in Civil Hospital, Aizawl. The blood donation was organised in commemoration of the College Pearl Jubilee.
On 22.09.2022 the NSS unit of Govt. T. Romana College put signages (stickers) 'Reserved for Disabilities' on seats reserved for persons with disabilities in Aizawl City buses. Five students and two Programme Officers Mr Lalthansanga and Mr Lalnunzira participated in the social work. The activity was performed in response to the request made by the State Commisioner of Persons with Disabilities (PWD).
NSS, Govt. T. Romana College Unit organised orientation programme for the newly admitted students in the College on 18.07.2022. Registration of volunteers was done in the spot. Along with this, campaign for PLASTIC FREE CAMPUS was launched.
An online seminar (webinar) was organised on 16 July, 2022 by National Service Scheme (NSS), Regional Unit, Guwahati. The theme of the seminar was, ‘Data Privacy and Social Media Safety’. The expert and resource person was Ms. Bhawna Goswami. As shown by the theme it is a valid and important topic in today’s world. Every words of the resource person were very insightful.
The online presentation was attended by Dipak Kumar, NSS, Guwahati; Pankaj Kumar Singh, Director, Youth Affairs & Sports, among others. Social media platform like facebook, twitter, instagram, whatsapp, etc. rather seems indispensable. As delivered by the expert one’s photos, status, etc. when and if updated must be visible to one’s contact only. These social media platform must be regularly checked if they are active anywhere. Privacy should be set at the highest and two steps verification must be activated. All accounts must use different and meaningless passwords for all accounts. One must track one’s login activity and keep track if someone else access one’s account. One must also keep guard while using personal account to login on third party websites.
Among the attendee were also two POs from Govt. T. Romana College (GTRC) Unit and 30 volunteers. The two POs were namely, Dr. Thanghmingliana and Mr. Lalthansanga. As data and personal privacy is an utmost necessity in the virtual society, the volunteers of GTRC benefitted a lot from the deliverance of the expert. And, it was all the more important
as it was all applicable in our day to day life.
Green Mizoram Day 2022 was observed by NSS Unit, Govt. T. Romana College on 9th June, 2022. Students and NSS POs plant saplings and cleared weeds at their Plantation Site, Maubuang on the occasion of Green Mizoram Day.
Students of Govt. T. Romana College donated their blood on Valentine's Day i.e. 14th February, 2022 at Civil Hospital, Aizawl. The Volunatary Blood Donation was organised by the NSS Unit of the College where 50 male and 11 female students donated their blood. In total 61 units of blood were donated for use in Civil Hospital, Aizawl.
As part of its regular activities the NSS Unit of Govt. T. Romana College organised the removal of weeds at its Plantation site ( Damdiai) on 8th November, 2021.
Earlier on 26th October, 2021 the NSS Unit organised Voluntary blood donation camp at the College campus. 65 unit of blood was donated by 54 male and 11 female students.
Two NSS PO from Govt. T. Romana College Mr. Lalnunzira and Mr.Lalthansanga voluntarily donated Blood on 18.6.2021 at Civil Hospital Aizawl during Lockdown in the City.
On 11th June, 2021 the NSS Unit of Govt. T. Romana College donated medical supplies to Local Level Task Force (LLTF), Republic Veng, Aizawl, to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in their locality. The medical supplies include - disinfectant, hand sanitiser, hand wash, face mask, etc. Earlier on 21st April, 2021 the GTRC NSS unit also donated medical kit to Covid Care Centre at Republic vengthlang, Aizawl.
