Under the 'Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav India at 75' programme, a Seminar on Bhagat Singh (a freedom fighter) was organised on 23rd March 2021 (Tuesday) at RUSA Hall. The Seminar was attended among others by Pu R.Hmingthanzuala, Director of Art & Culture, Govt of Mizoram and Pu R.Lallianzuala, Joint Director of Higher & Technical Education Department, Govt. of Mizoram.
In the technical session two papers namely - Life and Works of Baghat Singh and Bhagat Singh and his Ideology were presented by Mrs. Catherine L.Chhangte, Asst. Professor of English and Mr. Thanghmingliana, Asst. Professor of History respectively. It was attended by students of 6th Semester and 4th Semester (History).
The Seminar was jointly organized by Govt. T.Romana College and Department of Art & Culture, Govt of Mizoram.
The Eco Club of Govt. T.Romana College observed World Water Day on 22.03.2021 under the theme ‘Save Water, Save the World’. A short meeting was organised at Room No. 302 which was attended by selected students. Mr. R.Lalremliana, Associate Professor and Nodal Officer of Eco Club delivered a speech on the theme ‘Save Water, Save the World’.
Following the recent Government notification (No. B.13021/2/2021-HTE/Pt-I Dt. 26.02.2021), Government T. Romana College re-opens its Campus from 1st March, 2021 after the closure of all Higher Education Institutions in Mizoram since March 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic. Off-line and Online Classes for all Even Semesters will be conducted alternately as per routine worked out by the College. The College has constituted Task Group on Implementation of SOP on Covid-19 issued for HEIs in the State by the Govt. of Mizoram on the 26th February 2021.
For the 3rd Cycle Accreditation, Govt. T.Romana College was accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a CGPA of 2.27 on a seven point scale at B Grade valid for a period of 5 years from 25.01.2021. The College was visited by a three-member NAAC Peer Team during 19th – 20th January, 2021. NAAC informed the Institution that the Peer Team report was approved by the Standing Committee constituted by the Executive Committee to examine the peer team reports and declare the accreditation results. Govt. T.Romana College was accredited by NAAC for the first time in 2007 with C++ Grade. It was again accredited for the 2nd Cycle in 2014 at B Grade with CGPA of 2.19. As directed by NAAC, the SSR and Peer Team report on institutional accreditation will be uploaded in the College website later.

Vanlalruatfela 4th Semester participated in the 16th Junior National Bodybuilding Championship held in Hyderabad, Telangana, as he secured a National Bronze Medal. 🏅
This achievement marks a historic milestone as it is the first time a Mizo athlete has won a national-level medal in this competition. By ushering in this new chapter for the Mizo community, he has brought us great pride. We extend our heartiest congratulations to him on this significant success.

Govt. T. Romana College, successfully underwent “Energy & Green Audit” on 25 August 2025 to assess the initiative. The college qualified the requirements of Green audit as per A+ Grade. The certificate is valid till August 2028.

A Legal Awareness Programme on Child Friendly Legal Services to Children was successfully conducted on 19th February 2026 (Thursday) at Government T. Romana College. The programme was organised by the Mizoram State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Legal Cell, IQAC, and the Department of Sociology of the college.
The primary objective of the programme was to create awareness about child-friendly legal mechanisms, rights of children, and the availability of free legal services. The initiative aimed to educate students and faculty members about the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring access to justice in a supportive and sensitive manner.
C. Malsawmtluanga of Fourth Semester won the 1st Prize in India's Open Arm Wrestling Competition in Bhogeswari Indoor stadium, Guwahati on the 15th of February, 2026 organised by Clubdowntown.
C. Malsawmtluang had also won the gold medal in the First Inter- College Arm wrestling Competition organised by the college in 2025 .

On February 16, 2026 the Department of Public Administration organised Training of Sustainable Life Skill for students of 6th Semester at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Mizoram. Three faculty and 43 students participated in the training. This is the third consecutive year for organising such training for students.
It is a tradition in Govt. T.Romana College to observe Valentines Day by creating an awareness on safe sex and promoting celibacy until marriage. The college observed the same on 13th February, 2026 as the 14th of February falls on a Saturday.
