The boarders of GTRC donated a sum of ₹4500/- each to Covid 19 Task Forces of three localities. A total amount of ₹13500/- was given to the Task Forces of Republic Veng, Upper Republic and Republic Vengthlang on the 4th April 2020.This amount had been saved up by boarders for their year-end programmes, as is their annual practice. Hostellers had each made contributions to this fund from their fund raising efforts through manual labour either personally or as teams. Their donations to were an appreciation of the immense work done by the Task Forces in these difficult times, and had come from their own hard-earned savings throughout the year.
The Staff Welfare Association of Govt T.Romana College also donated a sum of ₹ 5000/- to the Local Level Task Force of Republic Vengthlang (where the College is located) in support of their activities on 27th March 2020.
The college observed international women's day on 12.3.2020 at RUSA hall with the final semester students. The programme was chaired by Mrs Lalsangluri. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki spoke on the international women's day 2020 theme "Equal for Each". The programme was sponsored by RUSA, organised by Equal Opportunity Cell and Women Empowerment Cell, Govt. T. Romana College
The College organised two separate programmes on 21.2.2020 and 28.2.2020 to bid farewell to Dr. Lalrintluanga who is to retire from active service from March 1, 2020.
Farewell Program on behalf of Students on 21.2.2020The program held in the College Courtyard at 11.45a.m was chaired by Pu C. Laldinsanga, Director, Students' Welfare. Many students expressed their genuine regard for the outgoing Principal and presented tokens of their appreciation for his selfless service. The program also witnessed performances by the College EU Choir, the Music Society and the Thingsiri Cultural Club.
Also speaking on the occasion, Pu C.V.L. Tlanhlua, Chairman, Staff Welfare Association deserved to be christened 'The Students' Principal' for the love and dedication he has shown to the students. The President of the MCTA, TRC Branch, Dr. Lalchhuanmawia also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Lalrintluanga, in his speech to the students reiterated his vision and best wishes for the students, prompting them to constantly be in pursuit of honesty, dedication and courage. The heartwarming function closed with a sumptuous lunch provided by the outgoing Principal.
Farewell Program on behalf of the Staff on 28.2.2020
The program was held at 1.30 pm at RUSA Hall. The program was chaired by Pu C.V.L Tlanhlua, Chairman, SWA and very well-attended by the Teaching and Non-Teaching staff.
Pu C.Laldinsanga, Vice Chairman, SWA who spoke on behalf of the Association spoke of the many developments the College achieved during his tenure. He made special mention of the Principal's tireless efforts in pursuing infrastructural growth and the grants the College received under his leadership. Praising the Principal on his commitment, he acknowledged that such praise was well-deserved and that the entire staffs were united in the sadness brought by his retirement.
The MCTA Secretary, Dr.Malsawmliana spoke of the Principal's devotion to academics, his integrity and the congenial work environment he has brought to the College. The Head Assistant, Pu Rema who spoke on behalf of the Office Staff restated the staff's pleasant experiences with the Principal and their genuine sorrow at his leaving.Many members of the staff as well as other well-wishers reiterated this sentiment and commended Dr Lalrintluanga's integrity and tireless commitment to his work.
The Government's newly appointed Principal Dr.Jenifer Lalbiakdiki (presently working as HoD in the Department of English) also expressed her anguish at the prospect of leading the College after the Principal's retirement and invited him to always feel at home at the institution he has so lovingly guided.

The Department of Sociology conducted an impact Assessment on the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sanchayee Yojana-Watershed Development Component (PMKSY-WDC) on 17th-18th February 2020 at N.Serzawl Village. The assessment was conducted as the permission and order of Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, Aizawl District, Govt. of Mizoram( Vide letter No. B.21015/4/14-DRDA(A)-IWMP(PIA)/251 Dated , the 16thOct,2019). The contents of the impact study were Project Effectiveness in alleviating rural poverty, economic enhancement of rural poor in the village and benefits to target groups under Livelihood. The department also made suggestions to the Project implementing Agency.

Mr. Lalengmawia, IAS, the Commissioner of Higher and Technical Education, paid a visit to Govt. T. Romana College on May 13, 2025. The Commissioner was accompanied by some officials from the Secretariat and the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education. A brief meeting was held in the Meeting Hall to extend a warm welcome to the Commissioner and his team. The meeting was chaired by Mr. R. Lalremliana, Vice-Principal of Government T. Romana College, who welcomed the Commissioner and the other officials and provided a brief overview of the College’s history.
6th semester students of the department of Public Administration, Govt T.Romana College attended training on Suntainable Life Skill: Rural Development Schemes at the SIRD&PR Auditorium on 4th April, 2025.
On 14th May 2025, Dept of Political Science, 6th Semester students and Faculties organized Voluntary works in Cleanliness and Beautification of College Campus with a focus to enhance the cleanliness and beautification of the College . Weeding, planting flowers and maintaining existing flowerbeds in different places within the College were done hoping to add vibrancy to the Campus landscape.
The Department of English, Govt. T. Romana College organised ‘Awareness on NEP 2020 for 4th and 6th Semester Parents’ on April 9, 2025. The programme was attended by 42 parents of the 2nd and 4th Semesters NEP students. The primary objective of the programme was to familiarise parents of the NEP students with the key aspects of the National Education Policy 2020, along with the new subject combinations offered under NEP.
The Awareness programme commenced at 1:00 pm. The Chairperson, Dr. Lalrinmawii Tochhawng, Associate Professor, Department of English started the programme with an introduction of the faculty members in the Department of English.
An awareness campaign on HIV/AIDS was held at the college campus by the Red Ribbon Club, Govt T. Romana College, in collaboration with the MSACS on the 5th March, 2025. The Resource Person was the Deputy Director of the Red Ribbon Club, Mrs. Lalneihzeli Sailo. She gave an awareness lecture regarding HIV/AIDS to the students. Two other Resource persons from the Positive Women Network of Mizoram, Linda Vanlalrimtuii and Rozampuii, gave their real-life testimony relating to their experience as women living with HIV/AIDS.
The Thingsiri cultural club of the college were invited to perform at the National Tribal Youth Festival 2025 organised by the Social welfare Department, Government of Mizoram at Kelsih on 10.4.2025 where their performance was highly appreciated.
