ADMISSION TO 1st SEMESTER B.A., 2021

Admission to 1st Semester B.A for 2021-2022 Session at Govt. T.Romana College will be opened for eligible candidates during 21st June 2021 to 2nd July 2021.

Admission will be done only in ONLINE mode through admission portal: admission.trcollege.edu.in. Admission portal will be opened from 21st June 2021. (Offline admission may also be offered at the College in accordance with (relaxation on) the Covid-19 Restrictions notified by the State Government).

DIRECT ADMISSION will be given to those candidates who have passed HSSLC in 1st Div and above (for English Core, candidates must have scored at least 60% marks in English paper).

Offer of Admission will be given to those selected candidates within two working days from the date of submission of ONLINE APPLICATION through SMS or phone call to their registered Mobile Number. Selected candidates will have to complete their admission within two days of receiving the offer for admission. Failing which their selection will be treated as 'declined'.

Certain reservations will be granted for PwD, SC, ST & OBC Candidates as per GOI norms.

Govt. T.Romana College OFFERS 8 (Eight) subjects in Arts Stream viz., Economics, Education, English, History, Mizo, Political Science, Public Administration and Sociology.

Points to remember:

  • Payment of admission fees can be done in two ways i.e Online Payment through SBI Collect or Cash Payment at the Office Counter during office hour. Selected candidates are encouraged to pay their fees online through SBI Collect to reduce risk of Covid-19 infections. Click here for SBI Collect User Guide
  • Total fees payable for fresh admission: Rs 2480 (updated)
  • Seats are limited, selected candidates are advice to complete their admission within a given time to avoid cancellation of selection.

  • Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and SOP for Covid-19 will be strictly enforced in and around the College Campus.

GTRC OBSERVED GREEN MIZORAM DAY 2021

The Eco-Club, in collaboration with the Beautification Committee of Govt. T.Romana College observed Green Mizoram Day on 11th June, 2021 (Friday). The event was observed amid the State Government imposed Total Lockdown due to the surge of Covid-19 positive cases in the State. The Eco Club and the Beautification Committee planted as many as 22 saplings of different types of tree species in and around the College Campus to celebrate the Green Mizoram Day 2021. As many as 20 saplings have also been distributed to the teaching faculty with a request to plant the saplings in their respective premises on behalf of the Eco Club. Planting of trees was done in the presence of the Principal, Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki.

SEMINAR ON BHAGAT SINGH

Bhagat Singh seminar2Under the 'Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav India at 75' programme, a Seminar on Bhagat Singh (a freedom fighter) was organised on 23rd March 2021 (Tuesday) at RUSA Hall. The Seminar was attended among others by Pu R.Hmingthanzuala, Director of Art & Culture, Govt of Mizoram and Pu R.Lallianzuala, Joint Director of Higher & Technical Education Department, Govt. of Mizoram.

In the technical session two papers namely - Life and Works of Baghat Singh and Bhagat Singh and his Ideology were presented by Mrs. Catherine L.Chhangte, Asst. Professor of English and Mr. Thanghmingliana, Asst. Professor of History respectively. It was attended by students of 6th Semester and 4th Semester (History).

The Seminar was jointly organized by Govt. T.Romana College and Department of Art & Culture, Govt of Mizoram.

WORLD WATER DAY OBSERVED IN THE COLLEGE

World water day2The Eco Club of Govt. T.Romana College observed World Water Day on 22.03.2021 under the theme ‘Save Water, Save the World’. A short meeting was organised at Room No. 302 which was attended by selected students. Mr. R.Lalremliana, Associate Professor and Nodal Officer of Eco Club delivered a speech on the theme ‘Save Water, Save the World’.

GTRC Opens its Campus from 1st March, 2021

Following the recent Government notification (No. B.13021/2/2021-HTE/Pt-I Dt. 26.02.2021), Government T. Romana College re-opens its Campus from 1st March, 2021 after the closure of all Higher Education Institutions in Mizoram since March 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic. Off-line and Online Classes for all Even Semesters will be conducted alternately as per routine worked out by the College. The College has constituted Task Group on Implementation of SOP on Covid-19 issued for HEIs in the State by the Govt. of Mizoram on the 26th February 2021.

GTRC Accredited ‘B Grade’ by NAAC

Exit meeting 3rd cycle1aFor the 3rd Cycle Accreditation, Govt. T.Romana College was accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a CGPA of 2.27 on a seven point scale at B Grade valid for a period of 5 years from 25.01.2021. The College was visited by a three-member NAAC Peer Team during 19th – 20th January, 2021. NAAC informed the Institution that the Peer Team report was approved by the Standing Committee constituted by the Executive Committee to examine the peer team reports and declare the accreditation results. Govt. T.Romana College was accredited by NAAC for the first time in 2007 with C++ Grade. It was again accredited for the 2nd Cycle in 2014 at B Grade with CGPA of 2.19. As directed by NAAC, the SSR and Peer Team report on institutional accreditation will be uploaded in the College website later.

NAAC Peer Team Visits Govt. T. Romana College

NAAC VisitJanuary 19: A three-member National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Team visited Govt. T. Romana College at their location in Republic Vengthlang for accreditation of the College. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to assess and accredit institutions of higher education in India. The Peer Team will assess the College on 19 and 20 January. The NAAC Peer Team comprised of 1. Chairperson: Dr. Mohammed Basheer (Former Vice Chancellor, University of Calicut, Kerala), Professor, Assam University, Silchar, Cachar, Assam. 2. Member Coordinator: Dr Raj Kumar Kothari, Professor, Department of Political Science, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, West Bengal. 3. Member: Dr Allwyn Mendoz, Principal, Saint Claret College, Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh.

Currently there are 42 teaching staff and 17 non-teaching staff with 1320 students studying in the College.
