The Green Audit Committee, Govt T Romana College in promotion of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3Rs) organized Free distribution of second hand items to students on 15th December,2025 at College Campus. The items consisted of clothes, shoes, utensils, stationaries etc. contributed by Staffs of the College at the request of Green Audit Committee. These items were exhibited at the College Campus for students to choose any item they like, not only for themselves but also their families, free of cost.It is worthwhile to witness the excitement and joy of students to have such opportunity. The Committee is also pleased to organize activity which benefitted students and their families.

Cleanliness and Beautification Committee organized Cleanliness and Beautification Drive within the College Campus on 10th October,2025 with the purpose of enhancing the visual and cleanliness of the Campus. Members of the Committee were engaged in this drive doing the following works:
- Removed litters and garbage within the College Campus
- Planted shrubs and small plants
- Repotted plants and changed old and damaged flower pots
- Weeding and Pruning
This activity was undertaken with a goal to create more pleasant and aesthetically pleasing environment for students, faculty and with a hope to generate awareness among students and staff in maintaining cleanliness and environmental stewardship.

The Department of Sociology, Government T. Romana College, in collaboration with the Rural Development Department, organised a one-day field visit to Lamchhip village on 14th October 2025. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to rural life, social structures, and developmental initiatives implemented in rural areas.
A total of 47 students and faculty members participated in the program. The team departed from Aizawl in the morning and reached Lamchhip by 11 a.m. Upon arrival, the group was warmly received by BDO Aibawk, RD Dept staffs and the local community members and village council representatives.
During the visit, students interacted with villagers to learn about various aspects of rural society such as livelihood patterns, agricultural practices, education, and community-based organizations. The Department of Rural Development provided valuable insights into government schemes, rural infrastructure, and sustainable development practices being carried out in the area.
The visit offered students a meaningful opportunity to observe firsthand the challenges and progress of rural development in Mizoram. It also enhanced their understanding of how sociological theories relate to real-life rural contexts.
The program concluded with a group interaction and photo session amidst the scenic hills of Lamchhip. The field visit was an enriching and memorable experience for all participants, fostering both academic learning and community awareness.

In fulfilment of the MoU signed between the Departments of English, Govt. T. Romana College and Mizoram Christian College, a Faculty Exchange programme was held on September 26, 2025. One faculty member of each college was designated as a guest lecturer to the participating departments and was assigned to the V Semester Major classes for the day. The Department of English, GTRC, was honoured to host Dr Hannah Lalhlanpuii from MCC, while Dr Dorothy Zonunsangi, Associate Professor, represented the English Department of Government. T. Romana College at Mizoram Christian College Campus. The programme marks the culmination of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in which a Students' Exchange Programme and Faculty Exchange were previously conducted between the two parties. Both participating students and faculty members expressed great satisfaction over the successful conduct of the Exchange programmes.


Vanlalruatfela 4th Semester participated in the 16th Junior National Bodybuilding Championship held in Hyderabad, Telangana, as he secured a National Bronze Medal. 🏅
This achievement marks a historic milestone as it is the first time a Mizo athlete has won a national-level medal in this competition. By ushering in this new chapter for the Mizo community, he has brought us great pride. We extend our heartiest congratulations to him on this significant success.

Govt. T. Romana College, successfully underwent “Energy & Green Audit” on 25 August 2025 to assess the initiative. The college qualified the requirements of Green audit as per A+ Grade. The certificate is valid till August 2028.

A Legal Awareness Programme on Child Friendly Legal Services to Children was successfully conducted on 19th February 2026 (Thursday) at Government T. Romana College. The programme was organised by the Mizoram State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Legal Cell, IQAC, and the Department of Sociology of the college.
The primary objective of the programme was to create awareness about child-friendly legal mechanisms, rights of children, and the availability of free legal services. The initiative aimed to educate students and faculty members about the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring access to justice in a supportive and sensitive manner.
C. Malsawmtluanga of Fourth Semester won the 1st Prize in India's Open Arm Wrestling Competition in Bhogeswari Indoor stadium, Guwahati on the 15th of February, 2026 organised by Clubdowntown.
C. Malsawmtluang had also won the gold medal in the First Inter- College Arm wrestling Competition organised by the college in 2025 .

On February 16, 2026 the Department of Public Administration organised Training of Sustainable Life Skill for students of 6th Semester at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Mizoram. Three faculty and 43 students participated in the training. This is the third consecutive year for organising such training for students.
It is a tradition in Govt. T.Romana College to observe Valentines Day by creating an awareness on safe sex and promoting celibacy until marriage. The college observed the same on 13th February, 2026 as the 14th of February falls on a Saturday.
