Govt. T. Romana College salutes the heroes of Kargil War by celebrating the Silver Jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July, 2024. The programme was organised by IQAC and National Cadet Corps, GTRC. It was chaired by Mr. Lalsangzela Pachuau, CTO NCC and Wing Commander HL Risanga (Retd.) was invited as a Resource Person. On this occasion, the Resource Person delivered a speech on the history of 'Kargil War' and how the Indian armed forces had corageously fought back against the Pakistani forces who had illegally occupied Kargil.
Finally, the Indian forces defeated the Pakistan and full captured kargil on 26th July, 1999. The resource person also delivered Career awareness campaign among the students on how to join the Indian defence forces. The programme ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Dorothy Zonunsangi, Coordinator, IQAC.
Following a beneficial and successful awareness programme with the UD&PA department, the Sociology department, Govt. T. Romana College took the initiative to hold another awareness programme with the Rural Development Department, with the goal of educating students about the various Rural Development Schemes that are part of their syllabus.
