
Govt. T. Romana College celebrates Chapchar Kut on March 12 at the College Ground. The first session of the programme was chaired by Dr. S. Lalnunpuia in which solo competition final round was successfully conducted.
In the second session, Prof. Malsawmliana graced the event with prayers. Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki, the Principal being Kut Thlengtu welcomes all the dignitaries and the participants. Kut Pa Mr. P.C. Zosangliana, Chairman, Republic Vengthlang Local Council delivered a speech on the theme that ‘Zo nun Ze mawi – Inremna’, is to be first planted and cherished in the family and our society. The local NGOs leaders including YMA, MUP, & MHIP and the Local Council were invited and happily shared this occasion. Thingsiri Cultural Club performed cultural dances and, the 6th semester student of all the 8 departments displayed the important moments and time line that the Mizo society encountered from pre-colonial era to modernity.
Various competition including solo, best costume, cleanest classroom and cos-play were organised as part of the celebration and prizes were distributed to the winners. All participated in chhawng hnawh, chai and hlim lam.





C. Malsawmtluanga of Fourth Semester won the 1st Prize in India's Open Arm Wrestling Competition in Bhogeswari Indoor stadium, Guwahati on the 15th of February, 2026 organised by Clubdowntown.
It is a tradition in Govt. T.Romana College to observe Valentines Day by creating an awareness on safe sex and promoting celibacy until marriage. The college observed the same on 13th February, 2026 as the 14th of February falls on a Saturday.
