IGNOU Centre

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers various academic programmes that lead to Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees. It develops and produces courses for delivery through open learning and distance education mode. IGNOU is also actively involved in research, training and extension education activities.

In its capacity as an Apex Body, IGNOU co-ordinates and monitors distance education system throughout the country and has constituted the Distance Education Council. IT has also provided expertise and assistance to other Open and Distance Learning Institutions in the country.

Centre for Learnig Mobile Phone Repairing

With the emerging globalisation of education and economy, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has also reshaped its policies and programmes to make them cell_phone_circuitmore relevant and career-oriented with focus on quality and excellence. In such endeavor the UGC has selected Govt. T.Romana College to establish a new centre for learning mobile phone service and repairing from the academic session 2010-2011.

The Centre will offer a six months Certificate Course in Mobile Phone Service and Repairing. The Course Syllabus, as per guidelines of the UGC, is prepared keeping in view the subject specific academic needs and market requirements, with the help of the subject experts. The Course Syllabus has been submitted to the College Development Council (CDC) and is presently awaiting approval from the Academic Council of the Mizoram University. The institution has appointed Mr C.V.L. Tlanhlua, Lecturer, Department of Public Administration to be the Coordinator of the new Centre.

The Objective of the Centre is to introduce Mobile Phone related career through market-oriented, skill enhancing add-on courses that have utility for job, self-employment and empowerment of the students. At the end of three years, the students will be equipped with a Certificate/Diploma/Advanced diploma in Mobile Phone repairing as an add-on orientation course along with the conventional degree.

  • How to repair and service minor & major handset problems.
  • How to setup their own mobile phone repair service centre.
  • How to survive in the cell phone repairing business.
  • How to make money by repairing mobiles

 

Computer Learning Centre

Under the UGC's Career Oriented Programme T.Romana College has been selected to run and establish a computer learning centre in the College. The Computer Learning Centre will offer a three months 'Certificate Course in Computer Applications with specialization in Desktop Publishing Technology (DPT)' for students of T. Romana College.

The Course Syllabus, as per guidelines of the UGC, is prepared keeping in view the subject specific academic needs and market requirements, with the help of the subject experts. The Course syllabus has been submitted to the College Development Council and is presently awaiting approval from the Academic Council. The Course will begin from the academic session 2009 -10 and Diploma and Advanced Diploma Course may also be introduced later in subsequent years.
